I believe everyone has the ability to work towards leading a happier and more fulfilling life. Mental and emotional well-being are integral to overall health, and, for many people, therapy can be a powerful tool for improving this balance. Research shows the client/counsellor therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in creating positive change, regardless of the modality. This requires you to truly feel you're receiving empathy and authenticity while knowing you won't be judged. My intention is to offer this dynamic.
About me: I've worked in supporting roles for twenty years with all kinds of people including those in later life, with learning needs, alcohol and drug addiction, young people such as unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, adults with mental health issues and the neurodiverse. This naturally progressed to training to be a therapist. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and offer 1-1 counselling sessions for adults and young people. I welcome everyone and provide an inclusive, non-judgemental, safe space for whatever it is you wish to explore in your sessions.
I use a client-centred approach, working collaboratively with you during sessions. I aim to meet you where you are on the day and to walk alongside you on your journey. I place a strong emphasis on building a trusting and open therapeutic relationship. Examples of issues I could support you with include: relationships, family, depression, anxiety, addiction, PMDD/PME, bereavement and identity - to name only a few. However, the time is yours to discuss whatever you need to.
Get in touch by email, text or phone to arrange a consultation so we can get to know each other a little better. No pressure or obligation to continue if it doesn't feel right for you.
